JERRY MARRIOTT HOTEL NSUKKA, ENUGU
I had an amazing time at Jerry Marriott Hotel Nsukka in Enugu state. My last wellness weekend was at Whytescape Serviced Apartments sometime in March and since then I’ve been craving a trip to somewhere new. So when I saw the opportunity to go on this impromptu road trip to Nsukka, I quickly packed my bags!
LOCATION
Plot 45/46 GRA, Beside Hillcrest Primary School, Nsukka, Enugu. It’s about five minutes drive away from the University of Nigeria.
AMBIENCE AND SERIVICE
When I entered the road leading to the hotel, which was kinda rough and not tarred, I expected to see one small, old, washed-up building but I was actually surprised to see a very large building with more than enough parking space for cars.
Going into the reception, I was even more impressed by how neat and well lit it looked. Checking in was very straight forward as the receptionist only asked for my name. Please note that reservations were made online before my trip. The staff who showed me to the room was kind enough to carry my bags and was very friendly. We got talking when I went back to the reception and he gave me a few tips that made my movement easier the next day.
There’s a bar and restaurant even though I think their options for drinks were too few. If you’re not a fan of beer or stout, I doubt you’ll get any other kind of drink you’d like. Don’t bother asking about cocktails or mocktails. One thing I didn’t like about this place was the music from the bar. It was a little too loud, especially in the evenings. You’ll see what I mean when you watch my vlog on Youtube.
THE ROOM
The room was very spacious, airy and clean. The bed was comfy and arranged in a way that allowed me to view the TV without straining my neck. I stayed in the Rose Double Room which had the following:
- Bathroom (bathtub + handheld shower + bucket)
- Television
- Reading desk and chair
- Wardrobe + hangers
- Reading lamp
- Refrigerator
- Air Conditioner
The price for the Rose Double room was ₦15,000 which I think was pretty fair. Overall, I rate my experience 7/10 and I totally recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to Nsukka soon.
