STORIES LAGOS
At this point, we can agree that I have a strong love-hate relationship with Lagos. Every time I visit I complain about the traffic but one area they haven’t disappointed me yet is food! somehow I always end up in the right restaurants. This time I went to Stories Lagos and it was definitely a hit.
LOCATION
Stories Lagos is located at 19 Da Silva street, Lekki phase one, Lekki, Lagos. There is no sign outside so it’s best to rely on Google maps or just stop at the grey gate beside 17b on the street.
AMBIENCE
Stories did a very good job with their space. There is an outdoor and indoor area but the indoor area is very airy and still feels like you’re outdoors because of the wide glass demarcation and see-through glass ceiling design that lets in some sunlight.
I think the space was well managed and can accommodate a decent crowd. They had an impressive selection of music playing at a reasonable volume. Also, Stories have one of the cutest restrooms I have seen. It has white walls with texts scribbled on them and mirrors for taking cute selfies.
FOOD
I visited Stories straight after church service so I had quite an appetite and I wanted to try more than one dish off the menu so I opted for an appetiser and a main.
What I ordered:
- Shrimp Cocktail – ₦5000
- Chicken Arabiata – ₦6500
- Orange Juice – ₦1500
Have you ever ordered a dish because of the presentation you saw online but got disappointed when the real thing came? That was the case with the shrimp cocktail because I expected it to come in a glass. However, the presentation I got was also very pretty and it tasted quite good. I absolutely loved the taste of the Chicken Arabiata pasta – it had a generous amount of shredded chicken well cooked and drenched in sweet tomato sauce.
SERVICE
The service at Stories was very impressive. The wait time was between 25 – 35 minutes which is actually decent. It was very easy to get the waiter’s attention as she was always close by but not in an uncomfortable, over-the-top hovering manner.
Overall I’d give them a 4.5-star rating and I will visit whenever I’m in Lagos again.
